It is a very temporary repair that usually comes with a temporary warranty. When you inject material under a concrete slab, the new material is setting on top of the same unstable soil that didn’t support the slab in the first place.
This material is injected with enough pressure to lift the concrete slab. In that process, that same pressure is being applied to your plumbing lines and air ducts and has been known to cause major damage.
It is a non-controlled lifting process. If too much pressure is applied, your slab can buckle and so can the walls on top of the slab. With the injection method, once the slab has been lifted too high, it cannot be let back down. The only option at that point is to jackhammer out the slab and re-pour it. And to remove the sheetrock and replace it.
Power Jack also handles the leveling of wooded floors. We are able to level and brace floors by installing double 2″ x 6″ beams in the areas needed. The beams are supported by concrete block piers. These piers are usually spaced at about 5′ apart along the entire new beam.
